Facade of The Fullerton Hotel Singapore in CBD for staycation

The Fullerton Hotel Singapore backdrop is Singapore’s splendid skyline

One of the best ways to enjoy Marina Bay’s historic and cultural Fullerton Heritage precinct is to plan a staycation at either The Fullerton Hotel Singapore or The Fullerton Bay Hotel Singapore – or both.

Step back in time at the former General Post Office that is The Fullerton Hotel Singapore and now Singapore’s 71st national monument. The property is a grand neoclassical landmark built in 1928 and has, given its scale, a grand staircase in the lobby that makes quite a statement. As you do laps in the 25-metre outdoor infinity pool, you enjoy a view of the Singapore River as well as the hotel’s stunning facade anchored by majestic Doric columns. The rooms at The Fullerton Hotel Singapore are blessed with splendid views of the Singapore River or Marina Bay.

Now that the luxe Fullerton has reopened for staycations, take advantage of its Time for Two package:

– Enjoy a four course set dinner for two persons in the comfort of your room (with a choice of Western or Vegetarian menu) and a bottle of house wine (red or white) valued at S$238

– Daily breakfast for two persons

– A pair of Fullerton bears for your stay

Rates for Quay Room start from S$510++.

Book with peace of mind as Fullerton’s staycation packages allow guests to make changes to stay dates and cancel without any penalty. Other staycation packages worth checking out include Suite Compliments for a long weekend and Perfect Staycation for upcoming school holidays.

Afternoon Tea at InterContinental Singapore’s Lobby Lounge remains

an important ritual.

InterContinental Singapore has been flying the flag of hospitality and gastronomy since the 90s and we love how this iconic heritage hotel located in the heart of Singapore’s arts and cultural district Bugis and Bras Brasah stays relevant over the years. It underwent refurbishment in recent years and emerged resolutely radiant, polished and more confident than ever.

When you step inside, the eye is immediately drawn to the Lobby Lounge, the centrepiece of the hotel. A beautiful picture of symmetry, chandeliers, towering pillars and Peranakan tiles, the opulent lounge is filled with plush armchairs and sofas from which afternoon tea, amongst other meals, can be enjoyed.

The guestrooms blend heritage and luxurious touches together with modern technology.  The Heritage Wing, in particular, impresses as it brings to mind living in the shophouses from the 1920s; its rooms and suites feature timber flooring, duck egg blue panelling, Peranakan accents as well as louvre windows and woodshutters overlooking busy street scenes.

As we enjoy adding a dimension of food to a holiday – even for a staycation in Singapore – our eyes are set on the Stay and Savour package which includes:

– Breakfast for 2 adults

– SGD50 nett hotel dining credit

– 25% savings at Lobby Lounge and Man Fu Yuan

– Complimentary car park coupon

A one-night accommodation for two in a room or suite of your choice starts from S$338++.

For us, a trip to Changi Airport always conjures up images and vibe of an overseas vacation – even if it’s an errand to pick up a friend / friend from overseas or a trip to see Jewel. A staycation at Terminal 3’s Crowne Plaza Changi Airport has the same effect as well. Well-appointed and comfortable, you’d want to opt for rooms with runway views for the occasional aircraft takeoff/landing.

During this time, there are less aircrafts in the ‘hood but it also means more space to wander at Jewel, especially if you wish to get that perfect shot with the highest indoor waterfall in the world – the Rain Vortex – or a table at one of the restaurants.

The Crowne Plaza Changi Airport has a Stay, Shop, Play! room package that allows you to discover the Canopy Park at Jewel while staying with the property.

Hyatt Hotels Corporation’s Andaz Singapore is a lifestyle hotel brand that inspires fresh perspectives. As Andaz’s first property in Southeast Asia it offers 342 guestrooms and suites, four dining and drinking concepts, with stunning views of the city. It’s sited on the sweet spot where Kampong Glam, Little India and Bras Basah Bugis cultural
districts meet – a beautiful backdrop for discovery on a staycation or a  holiday.

We are thrilled that Andaz will reopen on 9th September 2020 with a 3rd birthday flash sale; the hotel is joining forces with Grand Hyatt Singapore to offer stay and dining deals of up to 50% off through an online flash sale. Customers get to enjoy an additional 10% off their entire cart with a minimum spend of SGD 2,000.

During the flash sale period between 8 and 22 September 2020, Andaz Singapore will be offering deals such as:

  • SGD 33* Birthday Deals (SGD 38.84 nett), such as two pizzas at Alley on 25 or three cocktails at Bar Square
  • Andaz Great Workation at SGD 177 (originally SGD 354)
  • City View Room Experience at SGD 324 (originally SGD 590)
  • Lazy Breakfast brunch offering at SGD 44 (originally SGD 59).

Along with the reopening of Andaz Singapore, its wonderful drinking and dining concepts will also be back in business to complete your staycation: 665°F (a premium steakhouse specialising in prime cuts and sustainable seafood), Alley on 25 (a multi-cuisine, culinary hub offering all-day dining), and Bar Square (a drinking spot offering a backdrop of dramatic sunsets with Singapore-inspired cocktails).
